• Assessment of and solutions for cost-sharing and work effort requirements
• Human and Animal Use – Sponsor requirements, implications for project, practical recommendations HIPAA, IRB, facility requirements

Contracts and Grants — Review, Revision, Negotiation

• Industry/University collaboration and agreements
• Federally funded research – assistance for companies, universities, alone or in collaboration
• Subcontracts – flowdown requirements terms, agreements, and issues
• Intellectual Property – Sponsor requirements, definition, implications for project, practical recommendations, Contract and grant recipient, funder, and collaborator rights
• Clinical Trials Agreements – FDA requirements, definitions, implications for project, practical recommendations, funder requirements (companies, universities, government, other non-profit entities)

• Amicable response to Sponsor inquiries, concerns, allegations
• Thoughtful response to agency audits
• Assistance with mitigation of damage and effects of alleged breach of contract
• Mutually satisfactory resolution of project – related disputes
• Recommendations for monitoring compliance with award terms and suggestions for corrective action if necessary

Processes, Procedures, Training

• Assistance in contract monitoring, compliance, and reporting activities
• Training – contract terms, intellectual property, interpretation and application of policies, federal terms and regulations
• Updates and information on current and changing contract and grant laws, rules, guidelines, and regulations
• Evaluation of grant and contract administration systems, procedures, and personnel requirements compared to best practices
• Assist in developing contracts and grants “Unit”, and its systems, procedures, and personnel requirements
